Last night's Girls vs Parents was nothing short of a blast!After warm-ups, the parents were invited on to the ice to take part in this season's Girls vs Parents game. Both sides were eager, the girls were also ready for us!
Shift after shift the girls worked hard, moving the puck, skating at both ends of the ice and the best part; couldn't have looked happier playing their dads! With lots of smiles, laughs and one penalty, the dads fell to these girls by a score of 8-1. Sweaty, tired and old the dads just didn't have the gas in the tank to keep up with the conditioning of these young ladies.
Reflecting on the night, one of the best parts was to hear the dads on the ice and bench commenting about how far their daughters have come this season. It is hard not to be proud of them as we had a different perspective skating along side them in a game and really recognizing the attention and effort they have put in so far this season.
"You need to work as hard to be a great teammate as you do to be a great player" and if there is one thing that these girls aren't afraid of, that is putting in the work to be both! As the season is well past the half way mark now, it has truly been a pleasure getting to know not only the girls on the team but feeling the support from all of the parents on the team.
A big thank you to our Den Mom's, Trainers, Coaching Staff and parents both off the ice cheering and on the ice playing to make last night such a success and hopefully a small memory that we can all hold on to when we look back and reflect on our season!
