SCPGHA  Financial Assistance

SCPGHA is a growing hockey organization and we believe that all girls who are interested in playing hockey should be allowed and able play.  We want all girls of all skill levels to join and we believe that finances should not be a barrier to enjoying the game of hockey.

There are a variety of programs available to help offset the cost of playing hockey.  Most are needs based and require an application from the requestor.

SCPGHA does not directly subsidize any players to play for the organization but will work with parties to secure funding from outside organizations.

Below is a list of available programs one can choose to apply for.

1) Grindstone Award Foundation

The Grindstone Award Foundation is an official Registered Canadian Charity that enables young female players the opportunity to participate and improve their skill development in the sport of hockey. We provide financial support to young female hockey players who have the desire to play but are unable to for financial reasons.

We are a grassroots movement with a vision of making impact across Canada by empowering women in life and sport to improve the current state of equality. We have ambitious goals, but need your help to reach the families in your area who are struggling to keep their daughter playing. If you are in need of assistance or know a family who might, please pass along our information or reach out.

2) Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program

Jumpstart_Logo.jpg

Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out.

The vision of Jumpstart is simple: Canada, where all kids have a chance to fulfill their dreams.

Jumpstart is a national charity with a commitment to local communities. Organized sports connect kids to their communities. Canadian Tire Corporation recognized this and makes sure that money raised stays where it is donated. Canadian Tire Corporation is Jumpstart’s biggest supporter as it funds all the general administrative expenses of Jumpstart, which means 100% of customer donations go directly to help kids in need.
