Dear South County Players and Families,
Our names are Lauren, Ty and Kierstyn Baillargeon 10 years ago, we started “Kids Curing Cancer”, a local, annual fundraiser that raises money for local organizations that support local families battling cancer.
Our fundraiser started when our Grandpa, Dan Gerard, was battling pancreatic cancer. Since then, we have raised and donated a combined total of $86,557 to The Patient Assistance Program at Windsor Regional Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House in Windsor, The Fight Like Mason Foundation, Radiation Department at Windsor Regional Hospital and The Erie Shores Hospice.
Fundraising for “Kids Curing Cancer 2023” has already begun and money raised will once again be donated to the Erie Shores Hospice. We rely heavily on the support of our amazing community to help us give back and certainly couldn’t do it without everyone’s help. Kierstyn plays on U13 Yellow and we are so happy to be partnering with our South County Predators hockey family this year as we continue to raise money for this great cause.
Included in this email is a tax donation form. Tax receipts will be given for donations of $20 or more and will be issued by the Erie Shores Hospice. Please put your donations and tax receipt form in a sealed envelope or ziplock bag with your player’s name, team and a contact number on it and return to your coach. Coaches and managers will be selecting a game or practice on or prior to February 18 to have all donations returned to them. We will then make arrangements with all coaches/managers to pick up all donations and tax forms.
As a little incentive, we are offering prizes for top earners!
* Top raising team will earn a pizza party, courtesy of Kids Curing Cancer (Date TBD)
* Top raising individuals in the organization will receive individual prizes as follows:
- Player with highest donation total - $100 Devonshire Mall Gift Certificate
- Player with 2nd highest donation total - $75 Devonshire Mall Gift Certificate
- Player with 3rd highest donation total - $50 Devonshire Mall Gift Certificate
(This is why it is so important to have your players name and contact information on their donation envelope or bag!)
But that’s not all!
Kids Curing Cancer has once again teamed up with the Windsor Spitfires who have graciously supported our fundraiser year after year. We are so excited to pass this special offer on to all of you.
On March 15, 2023, the Windsor Spitfires will meet up with the Saginaw Spirit. Tickets are being offered to us at a reduced rate, with $5 from each ticket being donated back to Kids Curing Cancer.
This a great opportunity for us to all get together in our South County jerseys and gear, fill the stands with Predators players and family, and bring our Predators enthusiasm to the WFCU!
