Team Blue Predators Go 1 and 1 this past weekend
The Ull Team Blue went into the weekend with one win already on their record and searching for more.  They had 2 games on their schedule; a Saturday night League game and an exhibition game on Sunday.

On Saturday night they had to play their close rivals, the South County Predators Team Yellow.   The game started out fast with both teams showing they were ready to play.   The action was end to end when Team Yellow opened the scoring to make it 1-0.   Once the puck dropped again, it didn't take long for Sophie Gobbo to tie up the game with her 3rd goal of the season, assisted by Addy Russell.  Then, with only 36 seconds left in the opening period, Reese Baillargeon scored the first goal of her new hockey career to make it 2-1 Team Blue.  The goal was assisted by Robyn Humber.
The 2nd period was full of action and opportunities with Team Yellow scoring a few minutes into the frame.
The 3rd period saw Team Blue pressing Team Yellow for much of the period and showing they wanted to come out with the win.   Their hard work paid off when Blair Davis scored the game winner off a beautiful pass from Victoria Thompson. This was a big win for Team Blue, showing great goaltending from Olivia Versnel and overall great team play.  Final Score Team Blue 3 - Team Yellow 2

On Sunday, Team Blue had a matinee exhibition game against the Lasalle Team Yellow.  Once again both teams showed they had come out to play with the period full of action and ending deadlocked at 0-0.   The second period was much of the same until Lasalle scored a few minutes into the frame.  That's the way it stayed with the 2nd period ending 1-0 for Lasalle.   In the 3rd period Team Blue was showing the effects of playing a hard fought game the night before and started to slow down.  If not for the play of Olivia Versnel this game would not have been close.  Finally, halfway through the period, Emmie Poirier scored her first of the season, assisted by Robyn Humber.   With the game now deep into the 3rd and tied at 1-1, the Lasalle team pressed hard and scored 2 quick goals to end the game.  Final Score Lasalle Yellow 3 - Team Blue 1.

Team Blue will be back on the ice on Saturday Oct 29th for a home game against a tough opponent in the Lasalle Sabrecats Black team.  However, based on what we have seen so far form these girls, they will be up to the task.
